Cardan’s decision to exile Jude has been a matter of controversy for many years. Cardan is the main antagonist of the novel The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. Jude is the protagonist of the novel. The exile of Jude from Elfhame has caused a lot of confusion and speculation among readers. In this article, we will examine the reasons why Cardan exiled Jude and the consequences of this decision.

    Exile of Jude

Jude is the main protagonist of The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. She is the adopted daughter of the human Lord and Lady, and is the only human among the faeries of Elfhame. After her sister is murdered by the faeries, Jude vows to avenge her death and become a powerful figure in Elfhame. She is taken in by Madoc, the High King of Elfhame, and begins to learn the ways of the faeries. Despite her determination and strength, Jude is constantly met with hostility and prejudice from the faeries, particularly from Cardan, the High King’s son.

Another reason why Cardan chose to exile Jude was due to his own feelings for her. Cardan had feelings for Jude, but was also terrified of them. He was worried that if he allowed himself to act on his feelings, he would be seen as weak and vulnerable. Thus, he decided to exile her instead of facing his own emotions.

Finally, Cardan’s decision to exile Jude was also motivated by his own insecurities. Cardan was constantly compared to Jude, and was envious of her strength and power. He was also jealous of the respect and admiration that she received from the other faeries. By exiling Jude, Cardan was able to protect his own pride and ego.

In conclusion, Cardan’s decision to exile Jude was motivated by a variety of factors, from fear and
