    History of Phoenixville Hospital

    Phoenixville Hospital was founded in 1902 by Dr. Charles S. Lewis and Dr. William S. Lewis. The hospital was originally called the Phoenixville Sanatorium and was a small, 10-bed facility. Over the years, the hospital grew and expanded its services. In the 1940s, the hospital was renamed the Phoenixville Community Hospital and began offering a wide variety of services, including obstetrics, surgery, and pediatrics.

    In the 1970s, the hospital was purchased by the Quaker Health System, which later merged with Main Line Health. In 1998, Main Line Health sold the hospital to the Tower Health System, which is the current owner.
