Ravana is a character in Indian mythology, most famously appearing in the Ramayana. He is an antagonist of the story, and is known for his ten heads and immense strength. Ravanas Father In Law

Ravana’s father-in-law is known as Mayasura. He is a powerful asura or demon who is known for his magical powers and skill in architecture. Mayasura was the father of Ravana’s two wives, Mandodari and Kumbhkarna. He was also the grandfather of Ravana’s son, Indrajit.

Mayasura is said to have been born from a drop of sweat from the brow of Brahma, the creator god. He was a great devotee of Lord Shiva, who blessed him with immense power and magical skills. He was also a great architect and built many palaces and cities.

    His Role in Indian Mythology

Mayasura is an important character in the Ramayana. He is the one who gave Ravana the Pushpak Vimana, a magical flying chariot which allowed him to travel great distances in a short amount of time.

When Ravana asked for his help in kidnapping Sita, Mayasura refused at first. However, after Ravana threatened him and his family, Mayasura eventually gave in. Mayasura also helped Ravana in his war against Rama and his allies.

Mayasura was killed in the war and his death was a great loss to Ravana. After his death, the city of Lanka which he had built, was destroyed.
