Benjamin WhiteBy Benjamin WhiteJune 28, 2023

If you’re an avid guitar player, you’ve probably heard of Schecter guitars. Known for their high-quality construction and unique designs, Schecter guitars are a favorite among many musicians. One way to determine the exact model and year of your Schecter guitar is to read the serial number. In this article, we’ll show you how to read Schecter serial numbers so you can find out more about your instrument.

    Understanding Schecter Serial Numbers

Schecter serial numbers are located on the back of the headstock. These numbers are usually 8-10 characters long and include both numbers and letters. They also usually begin with a “S” and are followed by a series of numbers. For instance, a typical Schecter serial number might look like “S1234567”.

The serial numbers are used to identify the guitar’s model, year, and other important information. They are also used to determine the authenticity of the instrument and to help Schecter keep track of its guitars.

    Deciphering Schecter Serial Number Format

Schecter serial numbers are made up of two parts. The first part is the “S” followed by two or three numbers. This part of the serial number indicates the year the guitar was made. For example, an “S12” indicates that the guitar was made in 2012.

The second part of the serial number is a series of letters and numbers. This part of the serial number indicates the model of the guitar. For instance, a “STH-1” indicates a Schecter Tempest Standard.

Schecter also uses a unique serial number format for its custom shop guitars. These serial numbers typically start with an “F” or “C” followed by a series of numbers and letters.

Now that you know how to read Schecter serial numbers, you can find out more about your guitar. Knowing the exact model and year of your Schecter guitar can help you determine its value and authenticity. With this knowledge, you can make sure you’re getting the most out of your instrument.
